Some of the services we link to are partners who may pay us when you sign up through them. This doesn't change which ones we recommend. How this works.

ZenMaid and Jobber both schedule jobs, send reminders, and take payments, and each company publishes a comparison page explaining why it beats the other. The difference that actually shows up on your bill is how they charge. ZenMaid prices the business: one flat monthly fee, with no per-user charge listed on its pricing page. Jobber prices the business plus each person on it: every plan includes one user, and each additional user costs $29/month.

The short version: for a residential maid service with more than one cleaner, ZenMaid is the cheaper tool by a wide margin, and it’s built around recurring house-cleaning work specifically. A five-person crew that wants digital checklists and QuickBooks sync pays $39/month on ZenMaid Pro versus $255/month on Jobber Connect at month-to-month rates. Jobber earns its price if you sell more than cleaning (windows, pressure washing, handyman work) or run a quote-heavy business that needs automated follow-ups on unanswered estimates.

What a Cleaning Crew Actually Pays

Sticker prices undersell the gap because the per-user fee compounds with every cleaner who needs the app. Here’s the monthly cost for the same job, month-to-month billing:

Jobber Connect

$139/ mo + $29/user
  • 5-person crew$255/mo
  • Billed annually$215/mo after first year
  • Checklists, QuickBooksIncluded
  • Automated quote follow-upsIncluded
→

The gap grows with every cleaner you add. On Jobber, each extra user adds $29/month; ZenMaid's pricing page lists no per-user fee at any tier.

For a solo cleaner the comparison is closer: ZenMaid Starter is $19/month and Jobber Core is $49/month month-to-month (or $29/month billed annually, $21/month for the first year). Jobber’s annual pricing narrows the gap for a one-person business. It doesn’t change the per-user math once you hire.

ZenMaid: Built Around Recurring House Cleaning

ZenMaid’s three plans differ by features and appointment volume, not by headcount. Starter ($19/month) covers up to 40 appointments a month with calendar, dispatch, and map scheduling, a cleaner mobile app without GPS tracking, a Cleaner SOS safety alert, online payments through Stripe or Square, and invoicing. Pro ($39/month) removes the appointment cap and adds digital checklists, GPS tracking in the mobile app, booking forms, payroll, reports, and QuickBooks integration, plus a free onboarding call and data transfer. Pro Max ($49/month) adds cleaner availability and PTO tracking, service ratings, Zapier and Mailchimp integrations, and booking forms with your own branding.

The plan to watch is Starter. Forty appointments a month sounds like room to grow, but it works out to about nine weekly recurring clients (40 divided by roughly 4.3 weeks). A residential business built on weekly and biweekly regulars will outgrow Starter quickly, so budget for Pro at $39/month from the start rather than treating $19 as the real price.

Two more things to know before signing up. SMS is billed separately on every ZenMaid plan, so a business that texts every client a reminder will pay more than the plan price. And some third-party review listings still describe ZenMaid with a free plan or per-user pricing; ZenMaid’s own pricing page, checked for this article, shows three flat plans and no free tier.

  • Who should NOT use ZenMaid: a commercial or janitorial contractor managing multiple buildings, or a business that sells services beyond cleaning. ZenMaid is built around residential recurring appointments and doesn’t try to be a general field-service tool.
  • Who it’s right for: a residential cleaning or maid service with a few cleaners on recurring schedules that wants checklists, GPS check-ins, payroll, and QuickBooks sync without paying per head.

Jobber: The Generalist That Charges Per Person

Jobber’s Core plan ($49/month month-to-month, $39/month on a one-year monthly commitment, or $29/month billed annually) includes online booking, quotes, invoicing, online payments, a professional website, reporting, and 100+ app integrations for one user. The features a cleaning business usually asks for next, automated client reminders, automatic payment collection, job checklists, automated quote and invoice follow-ups, QuickBooks Online sync, and time tracking, start at Connect: $139/month month-to-month, $119 on a one-year commitment, or $99 billed annually. Grow ($199/month month-to-month) adds visual quotes with optional line items, job costing, two-way SMS, and custom workflow automations. Every plan includes one user; each additional user is $29/month.

Where Jobber genuinely beats ZenMaid is breadth. If your cleaning company also quotes window washing, pressure washing, or post-construction cleanups, Jobber runs all of it in one system, and its automated follow-ups on unanswered quotes matter more to a quote-driven business than to one living on recurring regulars. Its 14-day trial also runs on the Grow plan with no credit card required.

  • Who should NOT use Jobber: a residential maid service with several cleaners on a tight budget. You’d be paying $29/month per cleaner for general field-service features built for trades that aren’t yours.
  • Who it’s right for: a cleaning business that also sells other services, or one where most revenue comes from quoted one-off jobs rather than recurring visits.

Recurring Regulars or Quoted Jobs: That’s the Whole Decision

Set the features side by side and both tools cover the basics a cleaning business needs. The real question is what your revenue looks like. If most of it comes from the same houses on weekly or biweekly schedules, ZenMaid’s flat pricing and cleaning-specific setup fit the business at a fraction of the cost once you have a team. If most of it comes from estimates you send and chase, or from services that aren’t cleaning at all, Jobber’s quoting tools and multi-trade flexibility are worth the per-user price.

For the wider field, including tools built for commercial and janitorial contracts, see our cleaning company software comparison. If you also run pressure washing jobs, our pressure washing software guide covers how Jobber and trade-specific tools price that work.
